Vacation in Australia and New Zealand
Maori child and grandmother
Experience Australia, the ‘land Down-under’, from coast to coast on this trip. From Perth on the Indian Ocean, across the fiery red desert of Central Australia with its natural landmark of Ayers Rock, to the Great Barrier Reef on the Pacific Ocean, this is a fabulous continent to explore. Then hop across the Tasman Sea to the ‘other island’, New Zealand. Here, an incredible variety of natural beauty awaits you, from ancient rainforest to alpine peaks and from deep ocean fjords to bubbling hot springs and geysers.
Some of the friendliest people you will come across are the Australians and New Zealanders. Learn about the fascinating 30,000-year old culture of the Aboriginal people in Australia or the ancient Polynesian roots of New Zealand’s Maori people. And enjoy some of the best local food and wine you have ever tasted while on vacation!
Before heading back home, get a taste of the Orient during a 2-day stopover in Singapore, the island nation with its vibrant mix of Malay, Chinese and Indian people. This is the face of ‘New Asia’, steeped in tradition and yet at the cutting edge of science and technology.

Leave New York late this evening and fly via Singapore to Perth, Western Australia.
In flight, enroute to Perth.
Arrive in Perth early this afternoon, with the remainder of the day free to relax or explore this lovely, cosmopolitan city.
A full day tour to visit Yanchep National Park, a natural habitat of koalas; later, travel in off-road vehicles through the sand dunes to the Pinnacles, remains of an ancient fossilized forest.
Choose between two interesting full-day tours today: Travel upstream on the picturesque Swan River in an air-conditioned river-cruiser, stopping on the way at various vineyards that the area is famous for. Alternatively, take a fast ferry to Rottnest Island, a popular nature reserve off the coastline. Both trips include a buffet lunch.
Early this morning fly from Perth across the vast West Australian desert to Ayers Rock, a sacred Aboriginal site. The stunning aerial view you get while landing only gets better when viewing the Rock at sunset, when it changes color from bright red into pink, purple and dark orange!
Early risers have an opportunity to climb Ayers Rock before the sun gets too high; later, travel by bus to Kings Canyon, where you can join a guided walk either of the canyon floor (easy) or around the rim (challenging)!
Day 8 Onward by road through the great red Central Australian desert to Alice Springs.
Fly to Cairns in the far northeastern corner of Australia, where ancient tropical rainforests meet the Great Barrier Reef.
Enjoy a full day excursion to the outer Barrier Reef, almost 70 miles from the coastline. Snorkel, dive or board a glass-walled submarine to view the incredibly colorful marine life under the water's surface! A smorgasbord lunch is included.
Join a guided tour today to learn about the mysteries of the rainforest, as you venture into the Atherton Tablelands. Walk through the forest, past impressive waterfalls and you can even float on a volcanic crater lake! A barbecue lunch is included.
At your leisure to relax, go shopping or let the adrenaline run as you go rafting or horseback riding (optional).
Leave Cairns and fly to Sydney, one of the world's most stunning cities. A great way to start your visit here is with a guided cruise on Sydney's spectacular harbor (included in your tour package) with landmark sights such as the famous Opera House.
