Itinerary
|
Day 1: New York-Hong
Kong
Fly from New York to Hong Kong (arrive 2 days later due to
International Dateline)
Days 3-4: Hong Kong
Hong Kong is unlike any other, innately Oriental and yet very
cosmopolitan. With 150 years of British colonial influence over
the 2,000 years of Chinese culture, Hong Kong is a city of
contrasts – where ancient traditions thrive in an ultra-modern
city. While roadside vendors sell exotic Chinese snacks, you can
also dine in elegant surroundings, finding whatever cuisine you
might fancy. Hong Kong is the city of life, where East meets
West.
Days 4-6: Hong Kong-Phuket
Fly to Phuket in southern Thailand, where you can relax for a
few days at a beach resort and enjoy this amazing destination.
Enjoy a traditional Thai herbal massage or a special spa
treatment, while you relax by the blue waters of the Andaman
Sea. Also you have a wide choice of optional recreational
activities, ranging from golf to elephant trekking.
Day 7: Phuket-Bangkok
This afternoon, fly to Bangkok, the bustling capital of
Thailand. Bangkok offers a great choice of attractions, shopping
and dining opportunities, catering to almost every taste.
Day 8: Bangkok
Visit
Buddhist temples with golden spires and see the magnificent
Emerald Buddha during a half day tour. The afternoon is at your
leisure.
Day 9: Bangkok-Delhi
You have a free day in Bangkok to take an optional tour or
simply do as you please. Later, after you have checked out of
your hotel, enjoy a traditional Thai dinner at a local
restaurant combined with a cultural performance (local dances
etc). Afterwards, transfer to the airport for your overnight
flight to Delhi, departing after midnight.
Day 10: Delhi
After an early morning arrival in Delhi you will get a first
glimpse of India’s capital during a half day tour. India is an
ancient land of grandeur and spectacle. There isn’t a place on
Earth quite like it. Delhi encompasses over a thousand years of
history and civilization in one sprawling, energetic city.
Delhi’s many monuments, ruins, mosques and bazaars will provide
you with plenty to see and do. Highlights include the Qutab
Minar, Jama Masjid, Red Fort and Rashtrapati Bhavan
(Presidential Residence).
Day 11: Delhi-Agra
Travel by a chauffer driven car to Agra (approx. 4 hours), home
of the Taj Mahal, the world’s grandest monument to eternal love!
Wander around this architectural masterpiece as it glows in the
afternoon sun and experience a magic feeling. Later visit the
majestic Agra Fort.
Day 12: Agra-Jaipur
Leave Agra this morning and travel by road to Jaipur (approx. 5
hours). On the way, visit Fatehpur Sikri. Built during the
second half of the 16th century by the Emperor Akbar, Fatehpur
Sikri (the City of Victory) was the capital of the Mughal Empire
for only some 10 years. Just before arriving in Jaipur, visit
the hilltop fortress palace of Amber, climbing up on the back of
a decorated elephant just like royalty in the past!
Day 13: Jaipur-Delhi-Zurich
This morning's sightseeing includes visits to the Maharajah’s
City Palace and the Palace of Winds (which is not really a
palace but an elaborate façade behind which royal ladies watched
street processions while remaining unseen themselves). In the
afternoon, you have some free time for shopping. Jaipur is noted
for its handicrafts, colorful bazaars and broad avenues lined by
sandstone clad houses (hence the name ‘pink city’). Later drive
back to Delhi airport (approx. 6 hours) and board your overnight
flight to Zurich, departing after midnight.
Days 14-15: Zurich
Zurich is a fabulous blend of a medieval European town with
modern architecture, all located on the shores of the beautiful
Lake Zurich with the Alps in the background. The best way to
explore this city is by foot or streetcar, alternating between
elegant streets lined with delightful stores and cafes and
narrow, cobblestoned lanes that take you back a few hundred
years. Elegant restaurants and an amazing variety of nightclubs
are available for entertainment in the evening.
Day 16: Paris-New York
Return to New York and end your wonderful journey around the
world.
