Burma & Thailand ... a 15-day Tour
| See the golden temples and
experience the ancient Buddhist culture of Burma and Thailand. This trip starts with a 6-day escorted tour of
Thailand. Wander through the elaborate ruins of Ayuthaya and Sukhothai, cruise the Mekong
River in northern Thailand, and visit hill tribe villages near Chiang Rai. Then start on
an escorted 5-day tour throughout Burma (Myanmar). Visit the Shwedagon Pagoda in Rangoon
(Yangon), with its spectacular dome covered in sixty tons of pure gold. Explore the
thousands of pagodas and stupas of the deserted city of Pagan (Bagan), and visit the
former capital city of Mandalay. Finally, have a few days at your leisure in Bangkok,
where you may take an optional city tour of the opulent Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha
and a boat trip on the busy canals that crisscross Bangkok. |
