Day 1:
U.S. - Hong Kong
Depart from your home
city and connect at Los Angeles, San Francisco or New York to your flight on
Cathay Pacific. Enjoy the excellent service and comfort of this award-winning airline
as you fly across the Pacific ocean to Hong Kong.
Day 2:
Hong Kong
Upon your arrival in Hong Kong this evening, you will be transferred to
your downtown hotel. While some will relish the thought of a good night's
sleep, others may be tempted to take a closer look at the glittering night
life of Hong Kong!
Day 3:
Hong Kong
After breakfast, enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Hong Kong this
morning. Visit Repulse Bay, watch the sampans and floating restaurants in
Aberdeen and take in a spectacular panorama of the skyline from Victoria
Peak. The afternoon is free to explore this fascinating city on your own.
Day 4:
Hong Kong –
Phnom Penh
Around midday, transfer to the
airport for your flight to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival in the late
afternoon, you will be met at the airport and transferred to
your hotel.
Day 5:
Phnom Penh
In the morning discover some of the main sights in Cambodia's capital
city by 'cyclo' (a three wheeler pedaled by your own driver!) – the Silver
Pagoda, the Royal Palace and Wat Phnom. The rest of the day is free.
Day
6: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap
Transfer to the
airport for the short flight from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, the gateway
to the famous Angkor Wat temples. Visit two important temple
groups this afternoon - the sprawling Angkor Wat complex and later the
very impressive
Angkor Thom temple. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 7: Siem Reap
A full day spent
visiting some of the more distant temples in the area including
Banteay Srei,
Banteay Samre, Ta Prohm
& Ta
Keo. Return to your hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 8: Siem Reap - Saigon (Ho Chi Minh city)
After some more
sightseeing in and around the Angkor temples, transfer to the airport
for your flight from Siem Reap to Saigon in southern Vietnam.- You will
be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
Day 9:
Saigon
Your program today includes a full day of
sightseeing visiting some of the important sights of Saigon, including
Cholon - the city's famous Chinatown.
Day
10: Saigon
Travel outside Saigon today to visit the
famous Cu Chi tunnels and Tay Ninh.
Return to Saigon for your overnight stay.
Day 11:
Saigon - Danang
Transfer to the airport this morning for your
domestic flight from Saigon to Danang. After arrival, visit the
Cham Museum, see the famous Marble Mountains and China Beach and
then visit the ancient port town of
Hoi An. Overnight in
Danang
Day 12: Danang - Hue
Enjoy a scenic 4-hour drive along the coastal
road to Hue, passing spectacular mountain scenery, idyllic beaches and
quaint villages on the way. Stop en
route to visit the impressive Imperial Tombs of Tu Duc and Khai Dinh.
Overnight in Hue.
Day 13:
Hue
A morning boat trip
on the Perfume River takes you to the lovely Thien Mu Pagoda and on to
the imposing Minh Mang Tomb. Visit the Tu Duc Tomb and pass by local
villages on the way back. Later, explore the Citadel - the old
Imperial City on the northern side of the river, before returning to
your hotel in Hue.
Day 14:
Hue - Hanoi
Transfer to the airport this morning for your
flight north to Hanoi,
Vietnam's capital. Visit some of the sights of Hanoi this morning, including
the One-Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake and explore
the Old Quarter with its numerous shops, galleries, artisans and
restaurants.
Day 15:
Hanoi - Vientiane
Leave Vietnam this morning and fly to Vientiane in
Laos.
Day 16:
Vientiane - Luang Prabang
Fly from Vientiane to
Luang Prabang, a fascinating example of the fusion of traditional Lao
architecture with those built by European colonials in the 19th and 20th
centuries.
Day 17: Luang
Prabang
A fascinating excursion on the Mekong River awaits
you today as you travel by boat from Luang Prabang to the famous
Pak Ou Caves, with
their thousands of Buddha figures. Return to Luang Prabang later that
evening.
Day 18: Luang Prabang - Vientiane
After some further sightseeing in Luang Prabang,
fly back to Vientiane for for your overnight stay.
Day 19:
Vientiane - Bangkok
Transfer to the airport this morning and
leave Laos for your flight to Bangkok in neighboring Thailand. After
arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. In
the afternoon, enjoy a tour of some of the main sights of this fascinating
city.
Day 20:
Bangkok
Enjoy a half-day sightseeing
tour of Bangkok this morning, with the afternoon free for more sightseeing
on your own or perhaps some shopping.
Day 21:
Bangkok - USA
You have a
mid-morning departure from Bangkok for your flight back to the US. Flying back across the
International Date Line, you arrive in the US the same day. |
