6-Day Circle Bali Tour

Bali, the "Island of the Gods" hardly needs any introduction - almost nobody leaves the island without being enchanted by its natural beauty and the charm of the gentle Balinese who seem to have perfected the art of welcoming the world and yet retaining their own culture and religion. Unfortunately, most visitors spend much of their time on one of Bali’s many superb beaches and resorts and do not get to see the rest of the island. This tour, conducted in very small groups, is intended to show not only the famous sights but also the ‘real Bali’ - villages tucked away in the countryside where Balinese art and culture are part of daily life.

Day 1 – Kuta/Sanur to Candi Dasa
Transfer from your hotel or directly from the Airport, with your first stop being at Batubulan Village to see the famous Barong Dance; this dance is symbolizing the everlasting fight between good and evil spirits in human life. Visit the old court house in Klungkung used during the time Bali was ruled by a King, and also stop at Kusumba - a fishermen’s village. Later see the Goa Lawah temple before reaching Candi Dasa on the east coast of Bali in the late afternoon. The remainder of the day is free - o/n in Candi Dasa

Day 2 – Candi Dasa to Lovina
Travel along the northern coastal road towards Lovina Beach, visiting a couple of villages on the way. Proceed to Singaraja, en route visit the Tirtagangga Water palace, a traditional fishing village, Pura Ponjok Batu and Pura Beji, before arriving at Lovina. Overnight at Lovina Beach.

Day 3 – Lovina
Enjoy a free day at Lovina Beach, famous for its black volcanic sand.

Day 4 – Lovina to Ubud
Today’s trip will take you to the Gitgit waterfalls (roughly an hour’s trek away from the main road), the Banjar Hot Springs and Ulun Danu temple at Beratan Lake in the center of Bali. Arrive in Ubud in the afternoon. Overnight in Ubud.

Day 5 - Ubud
Ubud is famous for its artists and craftsmen. Spend your free day visiting some of the artist’s galleries or simply give your eyes a treat gazing at the green terraced rice-fields all around you. Overnight in Ubud.

Day 6 – Ubud to Kuta/Sanur
After breakfast, your tour guide will be happy to take you on a walk through the rice-fields around Ubud, and apart from a marvelous photo opportunity you can also learn something about how Balinese farmers live. Visit Tampaksiring (natural mineral water springs) and the holy temple at Besakih revered by all Balinese as the ‘mother temple. In the afternoon tour the neighboring villages of Celuk (famous for its silver and goldsmiths) and Mas (famous for its wood carvers) - of course there will be ample opportunity to browse and shop. Return to Denpasar and arrive at your beach resort this evening.
