Daily (except Thursday)
After arrival in Delhi airport we will
be met and transferred to our hotel. Later that afternoon, we

bazaars and ancient Mughal monuments of Old Delhi as well as some of the imposing modern
buildings of New Delhi, designed by the British architect Lutyens.

We enjoy an early visit to the Taj Mahal basking in the glow of the morning sun;
later, we visit the impressive Agra Fort and drive to Fatehpur Sikri, another ancient
Mughal city which was abandoned after only 13 years of settlement when the groundwater ran
out. Continue by road to Jaipur in Rajasthan, also known as the Pink City, due to
the sandstone facades of buildings here.
A full day of sightseeing awaits us
today. We start off with an excursion to the Amber fort outside Jaipur, the final stretch
of the journey being covered by an elephant ride, exactly like the former Maharajahs used
to do. Later, we visit the City Palace, Jantar Mantar Observatory, Ram Niwas Gardens and
Palace of the Winds with its exquisite facade.
The morning is free for us to enjoy in
Jaipur on our own - we can stroll around the colorful street markets with their myriad
photo opportunities, or go shopping or do some more sightseeing . Late this
afternoon we will be transferred by road back to Delhi and directly to the airport for our
onward flight. |
